Meet Aisvarya Adeseye, a current doctoral researcher at the University of Turku and an UTUambassador 2025–2026!
"I am a doctoral researcher in Information Technology at the University of Turku. My academic journey has taken me from a Bachelor of Computer Applications in India to a master’s in software engineering in the UK. In 2021, I moved to Finland for my second master’s degree after gaining a scholarship to study cybersecurity and entrepreneurship, with a full scholarship from the European Institute of Technology master’s degree program. I was supposed to spend one year in Finland and another year in another European country, but I ended up giving up the scholarship to continue my studies here; why? That’s a story for another day. But I love it here, and that’s why I have continued my study here as a doctoral student in cybersecurity.
My research uses a prompt engineering approach to design a secure local LLM agent for privacy-focused, energy-efficient interviewing and qualitative analysis. Unlike large commercial cloud systems, I work with smaller local models (1B–8B parameters) that run on personal laptops. The study focuses on exploring how optimized prompts can improve performance while supporting sustainability, accessibility, and security without relying on massive computing resources. Alongside research, I am also an entrepreneur and co-founder of Brilloconnetz, a company where I apply technology to solve real-world problems for NGOs and businesses. Balancing this professional path with my role as a mother has shaped how I view resilience, leadership, and the importance of creating technology that truly supports people’s lives.
My future dream is to continue building a career that bridges academic research, entrepreneurship, and social impact. I aspire to design AI-driven, secure, and ethical solutions that enhance digital trust and contribute to more inclusive and innovative societies.
In my spare time, I love cooking and walking around the city. The city is filled with rich historical sites and is usually a delight. My favourite places are the Turku Castle and Turku Cathedral. Turku Cathedral is always a delight to visit, especially during Christmas. Join me in this peaceful and historic city; I am sure you will enjoy it, too."

Aisvarya's study experience
I was a software developer for many years, and I started developing an interest in cybersecurity due to various news articles I read about website breaches. Cybersecurity skills are more valuable today than ever, yet there is a shortage of these professionals. Hence, I moved to Finland for my second master’s degree to study cybersecurity and entrepreneurship.
I was supposed to spend one year in Finland and another year in another European country, but I ended up giving up the scholarship to continue my studies here; why? I liked the flexibility, opportunities and resources provided at UTU.
I plan to expand the business I have already started in this beautiful city. UTU has many initiatives to support entrepreneurship, and the city of Turku itself has a buzzing start-up ecosystem. So, it’s an excellent opportunity for me to explore.
