Multilingual writers’ writing processes: graph-theory based visualisation of formulaic sequences and fluency patterns

Key words: keystroke logging, learner language, university level, subsequent interview

The material comprises of texts (incl. productions and processes) collected in the KISUVI project (2022–2026), funded by the Kone Foundation, using the GenoGraphiX-LOG (GGXLog) keystroke logging software. The material also includes visualisations of the texts, as well as stimulated recall interviews. The project focuses on the study of writing fluency in first (L1) and foreign (L2) languages, particularly the production and use of formulaic sequences.

The material includes texts written in 1–3 languages by 126 multilingual writers. In addition, the L2 texts (N = 177) have been assessed according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR, A1–C2), and some of them are also accompanied by stimulated recall interviews (N = 140). The data can be used for qualitative (e.g. NVivo) and quantitative analyses.
