Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine

Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine is specialized in disabilities and functioning of patients regardless of their diagnoses.

The main research interest is in the effectiveness of rehabilitation (Finnish early and musculoskeletal rehabilitation programs and the implementation of ICF-classification by WHO).

A one-week course in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (PRM) is included in the final year of undergraduate training of Licenciate of Medicine curriculum (in Finnish). In addition, lectures on PRM are intergrated into other specialities’ courses, e.g. into seminars of Public Health, General Practice, Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Neurology.
