Materials performance and structural design

Prof. Mohsen Amraei's research lies at the intersection of materials performance, structural design, and digital technologies. He focuses on the performance and characterization of structural materials, with particular interest in the design of welded and additively manufactured metal structures. A central part of his work involves the digital design and optimization of modern structures using advanced computational tools and additive manufacturing technologies. He is especially interested in how digital design methodologies can enable the development of large-scale structural systems produced through metal additive manufacturing, bridging material science, mechanics, and digital fabrication.
