Turku University Library annual report 2025

On this page, you can read more about the 2025 highlights of the Turku University Library and find figures and statistics on the Library's operations.

Turku University Library is one of the largest academic libraries in Finland. We support the research, teaching, and studying of the multidisciplinary scientific community. We promote the University's strategic research and education profiles. The Library has had the legal deposit right to Finnish printed material since 1919. Our collection of national cultural material is the second largest in Finland.

In 2025

We assessed Library’s printed collections and carried out a weeding process in collaboration with academic units in order to anticipate forthcoming relocations and reductions in space.

We integrated the key elements and tools of academic AI literacy into the information literacy training and guides we provide.

We launched the Turku University Foundation–funded Research Data Archive Project and, in its initial phase, carried out a needs assessment concerning research data management.

We clarified the service concept delivered within the library’s physical spaces, with a particular focus on preparing for the renovation of the Feeniks Library, ensuring appropriate preservation solutions for cultural collections, and developing student-oriented services.
