We have expanded our research and education in engineering. We are also aware that many innovations are based on research at the boundaries of engineering and other fields of science, such as medicine. Therefore, engineering has an important role in the new Strategy and Policy Programme of our multidisciplinary University. We meet global challenges by strengthening our expertise in engineering and supporting the positive structural change in Southwest Finland together with local businesses and other partners.

We have educated engineers in bio and computer sciences for over twenty years. Our new degree programmes in mechanical engineering and materials science and engineering started in autumn 2020. We have also established a new Faculty of Technology where the University’s research and education in engineering will be concentrated.
