"When I finished university, I thought I knew everything, but the truth was, I had no idea. These are 17 things about life, work, and relationships that I wish I had known when I graduated. Some of them I learned 15 years ago, and others just a few months ago. but they have all served me well, and I believe they can be useful to you, now as most of you are about to enter the real world."
Iván Fanego is the CEO and founder of AppCritic, the specialized service that helps companies’ position, grow, and develop their clients through an agnostic blend of Strategy and Content Marketing, Relationship Building, and Automation.
Unlike traditional agencies, he works with tactics and strategies that come together to create sustainable growth engines that don't rely solely on advertisements. He is the author of "A Nadie le Interesan tus Anuncios" ("No One Cares About Your Ads"), where he analyses the advertising crisis, and he has been building alternatives to interruption for over 12 years. He collaborates on the Spanish blog of Ahrefs, a leading content marketing and SEO tool.
Previously, he held positions such as Deputy Director of Communication at Cruz Roja (Spanish Red Cross), Head of Branded Content and Social Media at ING, CMO at a startup in Bangkok, and Senior Digital Strategist at Good Rebels (Territorio creativo), where he worked on the digital strategy of some of Spain's most important companies, such as Telefónica, BBVA, CEPSA, and Sanitas.
In 2016, he travelled throughout Asia, analysing its digital ecosystem and startups, and conducting interviews with key figures in the industry through his project 2geeks1city.
The webinar is hosted by The University of Salamanca as the fourth part of the Career Talk series organized by the European Campus of City-Universities (EC2U). In the Career Talk series, you will meet alumni from each of the seven EC2U universities and learn from their career paths and work from different perspectives. You can also ask questions from alumni.

The Career Talk will be organized on Monday, September 18 2023 at 19:00-19:45 in Turku and Iasi (at 17:00-17:45 in Coimbra and at 18:00-18:45 in Jena, Pavia, Poitiers, Salamanca).
The webinar is held in English on Zoom and is open to all students, young researchers and others from the seven EC2U Universities – bringing Coimbra, Iasi, Jena, Pavia, Poitiers, Salamanca, and Turku together on one European Campus.
