24.04.2014

The application for Falling Walls Lab Turku, a new scientific format for young talents to present their breakthrough ideas, is open until the 15th of July. In the Lab, young researchers and experts get the opportunity to present their work in just three minutes onstage. The Lab in Turku is one of the many Falling Walls Labs taking place globally this year. Three winners from the Lab in Turku qualify for the finale in Berlin in November.

The Falling Walls Lab Turku takes place on 11 August 2014 at the Sibelius Museum, Turku, Finland. The application is now open at http://www.falling-walls.com/lab/apply. Apply by the 15th of July!

Falling Walls Labs are organised globally throughout the year. The winners of each international competition qualify for the Falling Walls Lab Finale in Berlin, which is held every year on November 8 and is closely connected to the annual and internationally renowned Falling Walls Conference, taking place on 9 November.

The three most intriguing presenters from the Lab in Turku in August will qualify directly for the Falling Walls Lab Finale in Berlin. Travel costs and accommodation are covered.

‒ Falling Walls Lab is an excellent possibility for young, talented researchers to network and meet people from significant research institutes and also open up international career paths. This alone makes it worthwhile to participate, says Anna Haapalainen, who is the Coordinator of the Lab in Turku.

The Falling Walls Lab is a non-profit series of scientific conferences, which aims at building and fostering interdisciplinary connections between young researchers; apart from their own travel costs, participants will not be charged. The Falling Walls Lab Turku is a cooperation between the Falling Walls Foundation, the University of Turku and Åbo Akademi University.
