Delegation from Indonesian Syiah Kuala University Visited University of Turku

As part of the ongoing “Strategic Intellectual Property Management for Effective Research & Innovation in Asian Higher Education” project, a delegation from the Indonesian Syiah Kuala University visited the University of Turku on 22‒24 May 2018. During the visit, the University of Turku and Syiah Kuala University signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

​The co-operation between the University of Turku and Syiah Kuala University is part of the “Strategic Intellectual Property Management for Effective Research & Innovation in Asian Higher Education ‒ SPIRE” project. The project is coordinated by the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and it is a collaboration of altogether eight universities from Asia and four universities from Europe. The project aims at transferring good practices from the European Union to the ASEAN countries, strengthening capacities in the Asian universities, and creating infrastructure and regional co-operation.

During the visit, the Indonesian delegation was introduced to technology transfer and university-industry collaboration at the University of Turku. The participants from both universities also planned development programmes for the Asian universities taking part in the “Strategic Intellectual Property Management for Effective Research & Innovation in Asian Higher Education ‒ SPIRE” project.
