Downloading and Installation of Mendeley Desktop Will End on 1 September 2022
From 1 September 2022, the reference manager Mendeley’s Desktop software can no longer be downloaded and installed. However, you can continue to use previously installed Mendeley Desktop.
Instead of Mendeley Desktop, you can install the new Mendeley Reference Manager. Currently, the Mendeley Reference Manager does not fully match Desktop in terms of features, for example, deleting duplicate records, editing citation styles or mass importing PubMed records is not possible. To find these functionalities you can use Zotero, another reference management program supported by the library.
Mendeley and Zotero are free reference management programs. The library introduces them on its website and has also offered training and support for the basic use of both programs. The Zotero and Mendeley presentations will continue as agreed in the library’s teaching sessions. The library’s website offers you material for self-study (Zotero, Mendeley). In future, the library will continue to offer open to all training sessions for Zotero.
There are several different types of reference management programs. You can consult them, for example, through the Wikipedia website and choose the most suitable for your needs.
