Are you a non-EU/EEA citizen planning to apply for one of our Master’s Degree Programmes but worried about your finances? We have good news for you: Those who have to pay tuition fees are also eligible for scholarships.

About 30% of the fee-paying students can get a scholarship covering either 100% or 50% of their tuition fee for two academic years. In 2017 we awarded a total of 570 000 euros worth of scholarships to the best admitted students. So if you are a motivated, hard-working student with suitable profile and previous academic merits you have good chances of becoming a scholarship holder. Just remember to indicate in the application form that you are applying for the scholarship in addition to applying for the programme of your choice. The scholarship decisions are made at the same time with the admission decisions and you will be notified of the outcome by 28 March.

The University also offers the Fulbright-University of Turku Graduate Award for studies beyond the Bachelor level at the University of Turku. The award includes a grant of 1000€/month and a scholarship covering the tuition fee. This award is open to U.S. citizens that are accepted to one of the programmes in the university.

Even if you start your Master’s degree studies as a fee-paying student there is a possibility to get a one-year scholarship for outstanding performance during the 1st study year. The scholarship covers the 2nd year tuition fee and it is applied during the spring semester of your 1st study year.
