"Imaging the Black Hole in the center of our Milky Way". Venkatessh Ramakrishnan will talk about the newly published first image of Sagittarius A*​

Astronomers have unveiled the first image of the supermassive black hole at the centre of our own Milky Way galaxy. Interested in hearing how the image was made? Come and hear the researchers talk about the international research collaboration on Monday May 16th at 2 pm.

Astronomers have just revealed the first image of the black hole at the heart of our galaxy!

Researchers from Aalto Universi​ty, the Un​iversity of Turku and the Finnish Centre for Astronomy with ESO were part of the international research group in taking a revolutionary picture.

Reasearchers  Venkatessh Ramakrishnan (Aalto University Metsähovi Radio Observatory and Finnish Centre for Astronomy with ESO) will give a talk about how the image of our own black hole in the heart of the Milky Way was made. Kaj Wiik (Tuorla observatory, University of Turku) will also be available for questions.
