Travel grants of KASVA in 2014: Remember to send in the form ‘Award of financial grant’ after your trip without delay
The KASVA Network awarded travel grants for 36 doctoral students in June 2014. If you have received a grant decision, remember to send in the filled (the information about ‘Recipient’) and signed form ‘Award of financial grant’ to coordinator without delay after your trip. Please also enclose all the original receipts and a cost breakdown on a separate paper. The grant will only be paid during this year.
Dissertations of the KASVA members
Lic.Ph. Kimmo Oksanen defends his doctoral dissertation in Education "Serious game design: supporting collaborative learning and investigating learners' experiences" on Oct 25, 2014 at 12:00 p.m In University of Jyväskylä, Faculty of Education (Mattilanniemi, Agora, Auditorium 2). Opponent will be Adjunct Professor Timo Lainema (University of Turku) and custos Professor Helena Rasku-Puttonen (University of Jyväskylä). See the press release here.
The dissertation is published in the series Finnish Institute for Educational Research 31. It is available at the http://www.ktl-julkaisukauppa.fi.

Upcoming conferences and seminars
- Remember to register for the Annual FERA Conference on Education 2014: Environments of Education and Learning – What about Values? in Oulu, 20–21st November 2014. NB. The early bird fees are valid until 20th October 2014.
The pre-seminar on November 19th is a research day designed for postgraduate students in particular. It begins with lectures for all participants and continues after lunch with elective workshops. All participants are kindly asked to register for the pre-seminar by 4th November.
