Welcome to see the Light of Science light pyramid projected on top of the central square on the University Hill as part of the light artworks event organised by the City of Turku on 6–9 December.

The blue light pyramid rises to a height of hundreds of metres and can be seen for kilometres depending on weather conditions. The light pyramid marks the University in the cityscape and invites everyone to visit our campus. The artwork will be implemented by the Path of Light production team.

In addition to the pyramid of light, another artwork of the Path of Light will lead the audience to the University Hill. The Koskenniemenkatu street leading up to the University Hill will host artist Samuli Halla's artwork stigAir. The artwork consists of parachutists made of Stiga ice hockey players and embroidered linen and it forms a single entity when viewed from further away.

The Path of Light is a light art spectacle arranged by the City of Turku. It consists of a great light event and seasonal lighting on display throughout the darkest winter season. The inspiration for the Path of Light was drawn from Turku itself, its stories, atmosphere and the surrounding landscapes.

This year, the theme of the Path of Light event is: urban parks as event areas and oases for enhanced well-being.
