QS Ranking: University of Turku among the World's Top 1 %

The University of Turku was ranked as 276th in the latest QS World University Ranking. The University of Turku was third of the Finnish universities. From the world's 26,000 universities, the University of Turku was ranked among the top one percent.

​QS World University Ranking uses different comparison criteria in their ranking: academic reputation, employer reputation, student-to-faculty ratio, citations per faculty, international faculty ratio, and international student ratio. 

The student-to-faculty ratio was highlighted as a strength of the University of Turku in the ranking. With that criterion, the University was ranked as 146th. According to the QS Ranking, the international student ratio has the most room for improvement.

– QS Ranking confirmed again that the University of Turku is a multidisciplinary, active research university. A good position in the ranking is an important part of the University's international visibility.  It encourages students to apply to our Master's degree programmes and thus improves our ranking in the future, says Vice Rector responsible for research Kalle-Antti Suominen.

QS Ranking ranked 980 universities after analysing the information of 4,000 universities.
