Students learning the basics of the Finnish language.

The participants of Turku Summer School chose a two-week-course from five different options. The courses covered topics such as Game Development and Smart Sustainable Cities. The students also had a chance to get acquainted with Service Design Processes and Methods as well as Wellness Tourism Destinations and Customer Experiences in cooperation with local companies, or learn the basics of Finnish in Working Life.

At the last session of the Game Development course, the students presented the games they had developed.

A part of the courses were carried out in co-operation with the teachers of the University of Turku, Turku School of Applied Sciences and Novia University of Applied Sciences. The students worked in small groups, did excursions and projects in a genuine international learning environment. Also degree students could participate in the Turku Summer School.

The participants of Turku Summer School got excited about the Finnish game “Mölkky”.

To balance the intensive studying, there was a social programme that, amongst other activities, lead the students to see the mysterious and historical sides of Turku, have a sneak peak of the President's "summer cottage", and visit the Finnish sauna leaving the students feeling enchanted.

Next year, a new participant record is expected.
