Report on digitalization of environmental management tools in ports has been published

24.06.2020

Digitalization of Ports´ Environmental Management Tools report has been published as part of GET READY project. The report concentrates on the sustainable development and green growth of ports with a focus on how it can be boosted with (digital) environmental management tools (EMT). These are most commonly practices that will enhance sustainable development when followed by port personnel. Digital tools provide precise reports and forecasts on port activities, taking use of real-time information flow from automated measuring equipment. Since more precise digital data is increasingly available on port activities, reports and forecasts can be produced in an easy-to-read format. This can help ports to move towards more sustainable operations in a cost-effective way.

GET READY (Getting Ready for the Cross-Border Challenges: Capacity Building in Sustainable Shore Use) is financed by the South-East Finland – Russia CBC 2014-2020 programme, which is one of the three programmes implemented at the border regions between Finland and Russia under the European Neighbourhood Instrument (ENI). GET READY aims at increasing the readiness of the cross-border region to the existing and expected challenges by introducing examples of best practices on both sides of the border and applying innovative solutions in the field of sustainable shore use and coastal zone management in the Eastern Gulf of Finland.
