28.09.2016

The tuition fees for international Master's degree programmes at the University of Turku will be €8,000 – €16,000 depending on the programme. The fees are collected from non-EU/EEA students from 1 August 2017 onwards. At the same time, a new scholarship programme will be launched with the aim of supporting student recruitment and getting talented students to the University of Turku.

The University of Turku is launching the tuition fees next academic year as provided by the Universities Act. The programme specific fees are based on national and international comparisons but also on the actual costs of the programmes.

The scholarship programme aimed at students who are liable for payment has three categories: a scholarship that covers the tuition fee for two academic years, a scholarship that covers 50 per cent of the tuition fee for two academic years and an incentive scholarship for the second academic year. Scholarships are granted to max. 30 per cent of the accepted students liable for payment.

– Decisions on the two-year scholarships are made based on previous study success, and a University level scholarship committee will be established to make these decisions. The incentive scholarship for the second academic year offers a great possibility for particularly gifted student, says Vice Rector responsible for education Riitta Pyykkö.
