14.01.2016

The University of Turku is among the top 200 universities in the world in international outlook according to the Times Higher Education ranking. The University was the only Finnish university to make the list.

The University of Turku has been placed as 198th in the world university ranking that indicates internationality.

The ranking was published on 14 January by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings and it is based on the international outlook indicators of the main THE ranking.

The ranking of the most international universities takes into account the international-to-domestic-student ratio and international-to-domestic-staff ratio as well as the proportion of a university’s total research journal publications that have at least one international co-author.

– It is great that our investment in internationality yields these kinds of results. Internationality is strongly present also in the University’s new strategy, says Vice Rector Riitta Pyykkö.

In the international outlook ranking, Qatar University topped the list. The country that has the most universities in the ranking is the United Kingdom.

The University of Turku has been successful in international university rankings, as it is among the top three Finnish universities in nearly each ranking.
