24.03.2017

Do you have an innovative project or idea? Share it at the Falling Walls Lab Turku on September 15 to win a scholarship and a place in the finale in Berlin!

Falling Walls Lab Turku is an innovation contest for students, young academics, entrepreneurs, and experts. Originally scheduled for May, the contest has been moved to September 15, 2017 and will be held in the Janus Hall (Artium Building) at the University of Turku. The event is a collaboration between the University of Turku, Åbo Akademi University, and the Falling Walls Foundation, and it is organised by the Symposium Aboagora – Between Arts and Sciences.

The Falling Walls Lab Turku is a platform for young talents from all disciplines to present their research work, business model, or innovative project or idea. Each participant has exactly 3 minutes to share their breakthrough in front of the audience and a distinguished jury from academia and business. The jury will select the winner, who will qualify directly for the Falling Walls Lab Finale in Berlin. The call for applications is open for innovative thinkers from all disciplines from Finland and the Nordic and Baltic countries.

– This is a great opportunity for the contestants to share their ground-breaking idea. Also, the three-minute time frame challenges them to summarise the idea in a clear and concise presentation. For the audience, the contest offers an exciting selection of fresh ideas and innovations from a wide range of disciplines, says the Coordinator of the event, Malla Lehtonen.

Falling Walls Labs take place globally throughout the year. The winners of each international Falling Walls Lab qualify directly for the Lab Finale in Berlin, held each year in November on the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
