Biography
I received my PhD with honors from the University of Turku in 2018 in the field of Information and Communication Technology. Since 2025, I lead Autonomous Systems Laboratory (ASL) within the Unit of Robotics and Autonomous Systems. I have been PI and project manager for Finnish national and European Union research projects. I also serve as the academic lead for the international Master’s degree programme in Robotics and Autonomous Systems. I have (co-)authored more than 100 scientific and technical publications, including journal and conference articles, book chapters, patent, and technical reports.

Research
My research in Autonomous Systems Lab focuses on self-aware and adaptive autonomous robots and robot swarms. I investigate how robots can jointly adapt and manage their internal resources and operating parameters, such as energy and battery state, mechanical configuration, motion and path planning, control, computation, sensing, and communication, in response to their tasks, environment, and internal condition.
