Biography

Mr. Matti Minkkinen is a futures researcher who specialises in understanding social change and different types of orientation to the future. He was the first graduate from the current Master's Degree Programme in Futures Studies and he defended his doctoral dissertation in 2020. His research interests cover qualitative futures research methodology, the concept of futures consciousness and the topic areas of privacy, security and digital futures.

Teaching

Mr. Minkkinen teaches master's level courses on ethics of futures studies and futures research methods in practice and has given talks on scenario methodology and causal layered analysis, among other topics.

Research

Matti Minkkinen is preparing a PhD on futures of privacy protection in the European context, focusing particularly on the preparation process of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
