Biography

I have worked in several universities before coming to the University of Turku, in the beginning of year 2020. I started my academic career in the University of Helsinki. I have finished my doctoral degree (Special Education) there. I also have held title of docent at University of Helsinki since 2012. I worked as a University Lecturer at the University of Jyväskylä for nine years. Then I was appointed to a full professorship in Special Education at the University of Eastern Finland. I was in that position for 5,5 years (2014-2019). I have served at the Board of the Fulbright Finland Association since 2015 (Vice-chair of the Board on two-year term 2017-2018, Chair of the Board on two-year term 2019-2020). Administrative work has been closely intertwined with my academic career throughout years. Therefore, the transition to current position as the vice rector for education at the University of Turku was well-flowing move on my career.
