Doctoral Programme in Biology, Geography and Geology (3-4 yrs)

Doctoral Programme in Biology, Geography and Geology (BGG) offers high-quality and interdisciplinary doctoral training in natural science research. Traditionally strong areas in BGG are ecology, evolutionary biology, biodiversity, environmental science, physiology, genetics, physical geography, human geography and geology.

Application calls for a right to study are open in March, in August-September and in December. In August-September call it is possible to apply a fixed-term funded doctoral researcher position as well.

Next call(s) for a right to study will be open:

  • 2 March - 16 March, 2026 (right to study from 1 August 2026)  
  • 25 August - 8 September, 2026 (right to study from 1 January 2027).
