Meet Anna Bragina a current Master's degree student at the University of Turku and an UTUambassador 2025-2026!
"Hi, my name is Anna! I’m originally from Saint Petersburg, Russia, but I also consider Dubai, UAE, my second home. I’m currently a first-year master’s student in the Global Innovation Management (GIM) programme at the University of Turku.
Before enrolling at UTU, I completed my bachelor’s degree in international management in Saint Petersburg. While studying, I had the incredible opportunity to join Emirates Airline in Dubai, where I became part of their aviation family. This job allowed me to travel to over 60 countries, where I encountered different cultures and connected with thousands of people from various backgrounds. These experiences helped shape my worldview and personality.
I chose the GIM program because I’m passionate about making a meaningful impact by bringing innovative ideas into reality. I aspire to help companies with groundbreaking ideas expand globally. One of the things I love most about my studies at UTU is the discipline it teaches, preparing you for the professional world while providing opportunities to build networks that will last a lifetime, both personally and professionally. I’m excited to see what this academic journey holds for me!

Anna's study experience
Before moving to Finland, I completed my studies in International Business in 2023 in Russia and also worked in the United Arab Emirates. I chose the GIM program because it builds upon my previous studies and aligns perfectly with my future career goals.
I’ve found the communication between students and professors truly special. Unlike my previous experiences, I feel that professors here are approachable and always ready to offer friendly study advice. This supportive environment has been a positive shift.
Currently, I’m in the process of refining my career direction. Initially, I envisioned a business career in the aviation industry, but as I immerse myself in my studies, new ideas are emerging, such as developing my own business and becoming an entrepreneur.
Outside of my studies, I’m a passionate traveller; whenever I get the chance, I explore. So far, I’ve visited 60 countries. I also enjoy learning about the human body, exploring how everything is interconnected, and applying holistic exercises for a healthier lifestyle.
