Meet Kazumi Takaishi, a current master’s student at the University of Turku and an UTU ambassador 2026-2027!
"I’m Kazumi Takaishi, originally from Japan. I’m currently a second-year master’s student in Education and Learning, also enrolled in the Finnish-German Double Master’s Programme in Education.
My educational journey has taken me across different countries: I earned my bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts in California, spent time in Valencia, Spain for language exchange, and studied educational science in Regensburg, Germany. Finland is actually the fifth country where I’ve lived! I love exploring new places, meeting people, and experiencing different lifestyles. Living abroad has helped me become more adaptable and resilient.
Before moving to Finland, I worked as a business consultant in Japan and also had the chance to work as a student residential coordinator. Those experiences deepened my interest in education and inspired me to pursue my master’s at UTU. I’m really grateful for all the diverse experiences that have shaped my perspective.
Outside of academics, I enjoy playing basketball, exploring local cafes, and baking bagels!"
