Applying for the title of docent at the Faculty of Education
The University of Turku may on application award the title of docent to a person who has thorough expertise in his or her field, the skills necessary for conducting independent research or artistic work as evidenced by publications or otherwise, and good teaching skills.
Before submitting the application, the applicant needs to discuss it with a professor or associate professor in the field.
The process and instructions for applying for the title of docent are available in a separate document.
The application is submitted via University of Turku E-services. You can log in to the service with your Suomi.fi ID (e.g., bank ID or mobile certificate). The system allows you to fill in the form in sections. In this case, remember to save your application by clicking the Save draft button. You can find the saved form under the Applications section > Open cases -tab.
If the applicant does not have access to Suomi.fi authentication, the required attachments (1–5) must be submitted in PDF format by email to edu-hr@utu.fi.
In the Faculty of Education, applications for the title of docent can be submitted twice a year. The application periods are 15 January - 15 February and 1 September - 30 September.
