Studying at the Department of Landscape Studies

Landscape Studies provides expertise in the interfaces between culture, nature and heritage conservation, land use planning and urban and rural development. The graduates find employment in the fields of research, environmental administration, urban planning, museum sector, environmental education and tourism.

The tuition is focused on building of interdisciplinary theoretic and methodological competences and the organising of project courses in co-operation with external partners. The main goal is a holistic understanding of the landscape as a cultural phenomenon and its connection to everyday life and environmental or societal change. The training enhances the capacity for teamwork, intergroup and cross-sectoral communication and engagement.
