Title of Docent at the Faculty of Social Sciences

The University may award the title of docent (in Finnish dosentti) to a person who has comprehensive knowledge of his or her own field, a capacity for independent research or artistic work demonstrated through publication or some other manner, and good teaching skills.

Before submitting an application, the applicant must discuss the application for the title of docent with the head of the relevant department or with professors in the discipline / field. 

Before filling out the application form, please familiarise yourself with the guidelines provided by the Faculty of Social Sciences for those applying for the title of docent.

The application is submitted via University of Turku E-services. You can log in to the service with your Suomi.fi ID (e.g., bank ID or mobile certificate). The system allows you to fill in the form in sections. In this case, remember to save your application by clicking the Save draft button. You can find the saved form under the Service groups tab > Personnel > Docent application.

If you do not have access to Suomi.fi authentication, please submit the required attachments in PDF format by email to: soc-hr@utu.fi.
