International Accreditation of TSE's Executive MBA Continued

18.12.2012

International accreditation of the executive MBA Turku programme has been continued. The programme is the flagship of Turku School of Economics' executive education. The eMBA programme is organised by the TSE exe (Executive Development) unit.

EPAS is a quality certificate granted by the European Foundation for Management Development (EMDF) to international business and/or management programmes. The foundation has over 750 member organisations, representing universities, businesses and the public sector in over 81 countries. EFMD is the world's largest evaluator of executive education.

EFMD has extended the accrediation of Turku School of Economics' eMBA Turku programme by three years. According to the EPAS Accreditation Board, the programme's special strengths lie in strong business and corporate connections, customer-orientedness and inclusion of research-based knowledge, particularly on entrepreneurship and foresight.

- We are particularly distinguished from other eMBA programmes by our use of experienced business executives as mentors who support the process of growing into future executives, Kirsi Kostia, Director of TSE Exe.

According to Kostia, the accreditation guarantees that clients and their organisations are provided with an international-level executive education programme which is continuously developed to respond to future management challenges.

Executive education has been offered in Turku for 30 years. The eMBA programme has been running since the mid-1990s. As the current programme draws to its end, the number of eMBA graduates will reach 195. Aimed at people holding management and specialist positions, the programme is completed in about three years alongside the student's daily work.
