Library Services in the Summer of 2023
Most of the library's services are available in the summer! Feeniks Library will remain open throughout the summer, while other libraries are closed from Midsummer until late July.
Customer service and facilities
- Feeniks Library operates throughout the summer on Mondays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Tuesdays to Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Regular opening hours will resume on August 28.
- All libraries will be closed during Midsummer from June 23 to June 25.
- Except for Feeniks Library, all other libraries will be closed from June 26 to July 30. In June and August, libraries will have shortened opening hours. See the library unit-specific opening hours for details.

The study facilities of Feeniks Library can be utilized throughout the summer, during the library's opening hours! In other libraries, the facilities with extended opening hours are in use according to the opening hours of the buildings, except for the 2nd floor of Arcanum Library, which will be closed from June 26 to July 30.
Borrowing, returns and reservations
In July, you can return items either by using the return box at Feeniks Library or by sending them by mail.
Despite the closure of library units, it is still possible to make reservations for all the libraries on the Turku campus throughout the summer. You can collect your reserved items at Feeniks Library.
Please note that newspaper and ephemera services will not be available from June 23 to July 30, and materials will not be delivered to Feeniks Library during that time.
Interlibrary services
The interlibrary services operate limitedly from June 23 to July 2 and will be completely closed on July 3 to August 6.
Use and acquisition of materials
The library's e-resources are accessible to all university students with a UTU ID, regardless of their location, throughout the summer. You can access the e-resources through the Volter database.
The functionality of electronic materials will be maintained during the summer. If you encounter any issues, please contact library@utu.fi.

Please be aware that there may be delays in acquiring materials during July and August due to the summer holidays. No acquisition orders will be placed for departments/units during July.
Publishing support services
The Annales Services, such as publishing doctoral dissertations and ISBN services, will be available on call throughout the summer.
The commenting service for SA-funded project data management plans (DMP) will operate as agreed.
Accepting the APC discounts that are part of FinELib's licences will work throughout the summer.
