Paul M. Healy and Seppo Remes are Conferred Honorary Doctors of TSE

Healy and Remes are conferred at the Doctoral Conferment Ceremony of all the faculties at the University of Turku held at the turn of May and June.

​In the Conferment Ceremony, the faculties confer thirteen Honorary Doctors. Turku School of Economics confers two Honorary Doctors. The Honorary Doctorate is conferred on an individual who has contributed substantially to their scientific field or who plays an influential role in economic life.

Professor Paul M. Healy (Harvard Business School) is acknowledged for his ability to join theory and practice in a constructive dialogue. Healy has influenced in a revolutionary manner on where and how financial statement reports of companies are used.

Independent Director Seppo Remes serves in the governing bodies of several Russian listed companies. He is the best known Finnish director in Russia, where he has been named independent board member of the year several times. Remes has helped the Finnish civil service and the research community to get connected to Russia.
