QS Ranking Highlights Nine Subjects from the University of Turku ‒ Business & Management Studies in Top 200 in the World

In the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject, the University of Turku ranked among the top in the world in nine different subjects, with Business & Management Studies as one of the five subjects where the University of Turku is among the top 200 in the world.

​The University of Turku has increased the number of subjects in the international university ranking. This is a clear improvement: in 2014, only five subjects from the University of Turku were included in the list.

– The University’s longstanding work shows in these different university rankings. This ranking clearly displays the strength of our University, which is diversity, says Vice Rector Kalle-Antti Suominen, who is responsible for research.

Business & Management Studies among Top 200 in the World

The University of Turku ranked among the top 200 in the world in Business & Management Studies. This is the first time that the University has been featured in this category.

According to the Dean Markus Granlund from Turku School of Economics, this success is proof of how the longstanding work in developing the quality of research and education is starting to bear fruit.

‒ These development paths take years, as well as different incentive and follow-up mechanism for support. One significant control system in Turku School of Economics in this regard has been the research monitoring system, where publications, ISI citations as well as scientific expert tasks are credited, while radically emphasising quality ratings.

The QS World University Rankings by Subject ranked 3500 universities in 36 subjects. The ranking is based on academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact.
