16.03.2020

The University of Turku actively follows the coronavirus situation and the authorities’ instructions. The University’s instructions and links to further information are available on the University’s website.

Among other things, the University has issued instructions on travel, remote work, studying, and organising teaching and doctoral dissertation defences. The current instructions will be updated on the University's website and will also be sent to the staff and students by email.

─ The University's different service units, experts, and management are committed to following the situation and, if needed, we can quickly make decisions on further actions. At the moment, the University operates normally, but we will move to remote work and studying as efficiently as possible, says Rector Jukka Kola.

The University ensures that there is enough instructions and time to prepare for remote work and studying online.  The faculties can issue more specific instructions as long as they are in line with the University's general instructions.

─ In order to organise the University's activities, we need to actively find solutions and share best practices. In this exceptional situation, co-operation is the key - together we can find the best practices and put them in action, encourages Kola.
