Services at the Turku School of Economics Library expand

18.03.2024

The renovation of the Turku School of Economics Library is complete, and the new space called “Holvi” (which translates as “The Vault” in English) on the ground floor will be opened for library users on Wednesday afternoon, 20 March. At the same time, the self-service options will increase: students and staff of the University of Turku will be able to use the TSE library facilities and borrow materials from morning until evening.

Holvi, located in the ground floor of the library, will be accessible to library customers starting Wednesday afternoon, 20 March. Holvi will house borrowable library materials, a self-service checkout machine, and new study and lounge areas. There will be spaces for a wide range of study activities, including a dedicated group study area and workstations where talking is allowed. This will allow, for example, participating lessons at a distance.

Self-service access to the library for University of Turku students and staff will expand

After Holvi is opened, University of Turku students and staff can use all TSE library facilities and borrow materials  from morning until evening. The library facilities will be open at all times, except for longer holiday periods, allowing users to access the library whenever the building is accessible based on university access rights.

The service hours and the times when non-university customers can use the library will remain unchanged. Customer service will be available Monday to Thursday from 12 to 18 and Fridays from 12 to 16. Non-university customers can use the library Mon - Thurs from 8 to 18 and Fri from 8 to 16.

The doors to Holvi will be officially opened on Wednesday, March 20, at 15.15. Welcome to celebrate the opening of Holvi and explore the new spaces!
