Sten-Olof Hansén had his presentation of doctor honoris causa seminar in International Business Research Seminar

​Sten-Olof Hansén, an emeritus professor in International Business, was admitted a doctor honoris causa title by the faculty of Medicine at University of Helsinki in 10th June 2016. He held his presentation "In Search for new drugs - experiences from the pharmaceutical industry" from the conferment ceremony in International Business Research Seminar on Tuesday 11th October 2016. In his presentation Hansén viewed the history of drug development and pharmaceutical industry development in Finland. He highlighted the meaning of innovations as a resource for economic growth and reminded us of the high level of research in Finland.

Professor Sten-Olof Hansén was admitted with the title of doctor honoris causa due to his influential role in Finnish society. Besides holding a professorship at the Turku School of Economics and Business Administration, he has had a long career in the pharmaceutical industry. Sten-Olof Hansén has completed the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School. He has also been awarded the decoration of Knight, First Class, of the Order of the Lion of Finland. Hansén is the author of numerous publications related to international business, strategic management and innovation.
