In celebration of our 25th anniversary, we at the Finland Futures Research Centre (FFRC) are organising a Futures Fair, where visitors can learn more about our research projects and partnerships.

Our research is interdisciplinary, and it includes for example Environment and Energy Research; Foresight and Regional Development; Futures of Education; Futures of Food and Consumption; Theoretical and methodological foundations of futures studies and foresight, etc.

Come meet our researchers and find out how the FFRC could cooperate with your institution.

13:00 Fair begins at the Mercatori and the nearby lecture rooms 

13:15 Opening by the FFRC Director Juha Kaskisen and Dean Markus Granlund

13:30 Professor Petri Tapio and Researcher Ellinoora Leino-Richert: FFRC's research activities during the 25 years 

13:45–14:00 Interview: University's Rector Kalervo Väänänen

14:15–14:30  Interview: Director Pekka Sundman and Project Manager Riitta Birkstedt (City of Turku)

14:45–15:00  Interview: Strategy Manager Timo Metsä-Tokila (Centre for Economic Development) and entrepreneur Tomi Kalpio (3DTech)

15:15 Interview: Alumni Marianna Mäkiteeri (Futures Platform) and PhD Student Akhgar Kaboli (in English) 

15:30–16:30  Book launch by the Finnish Society for Future Studies: 'How Do We Explore Our Futures?'

18:00 Fair ends

 

The Futures Fair is meant for the academic community and FFRC partners, and it is open for all who are interested in our activities. The event is alcohol-free and children are welcome as well.

The Fair is free of charge, and no sign-up is needed.
