Organised by the University of Turku and several Finnish embassies in European countries, a seminar on the year 1918 was held in Educarium on Thursday, 29 November. The 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War is celebrated this year.
It is possible to study in English at the Department of Philosophy, Contemporary History and Political Science. While most Contemporary History degree requirements and lecture courses offered are by default in Finnish, special arrangements will be made if necessary. A student aspiring to study in English should contact the department staff.
Contemporary History aims at making sense of today’s society and politics by means of a history-based analysis. The Department is focused on teaching and researching the recent history of politics, international relations and the society.
