Department of Finnish Literature
Students of Finnish Literature become experts in Finnish literature and the literary institution, or teachers of Finnish language and literature. Our research and teaching cover the Finnish literary history as well as contemporary literary life.
Our main fields of expertise are feminist scholarship on literature, transnational studies, research on the literature–nature relationship, digital culture, poetry, children’s literature, and literature for young readers. Finnish Literature is part of the School of History, Culture and Arts Studies, and we co-operate with other art studies disciplines within the School.
