Changes in the Conditions of Doctoral Training

Approval of changes in the conditions of a doctoral researcher's training is made by the Faculty of Medicine.

Change of a supervisor/a member of the follow-up committee/a research plan

Addition/change of a supervisor (max 3 supervisors):

  • A short freeform application containing an explanation for the reasons to the addition/change of a supervisor
  • Each party (the doctoral researcher as well as the existing and the new suggested supervisor) signs/approves by email the application
  • The application is submitted to the Chief academic officer of the Faculty (in paper/by email)

Addition/change of a member of the follow-up committee:

  • A short freeform proposal for adding/changing a member of the follow-up committee
  • Each party (the doctoral researcher and the supervisors) signs/approves by email the application
  • The proposal is submitted to the Chief academic officer of the Faculty (in paper/by email)

Possible changes in the supervisors and the follow-up committee must be applied for as soon as they happen, however, before the thesis manuscript is delivered to the faculty.

(Significant) change in the research plan:

  • The new research plan is submitted to the Chief academic officer of the Faculty (in paper/by email)
  • Each party (the doctoral researcher and the supervisors) signs/approves by email the research plan/cover letter to it

Registration forms

Registration forms are used when applied for a change in the doctoral degree (e.g. doctoral subject or degree) or when applied for the re-activation of a passive study right.
Always ask instructions beforehand from the Chief academic officer of the faculty or the coordinator of your doctoral programme.
