Sustainable Development at the University of Turku

The goal of the University of Turku is to make climate work and the principles of sustainable development a comprehensive, strategic theme encompassing all levels of the University community. The University of Turku is committed to taking measures in order to make the University carbon neutral by 2025.

Our objective is to develop an operational culture in which the principles of sustainable development are realised in our education, research, and interaction with different stakeholder groups in society.

Started in the University of Turku in autumn 2018, the Steering Group for Sustainable Development develops, monitors, and evaluates the University’s activities on sustainable development.

The Chair of the group is Professor Mika Hannula and Vice Chair is Director of Development Riitta Mustonen
