Design & Applied Arts Index (DAAI)


Students and teachers of cultural history, art studies and those busy with handicraft education will find Design & Applied Arts Index database helpful.

Did you know: early ideas about masculinity and femininity can still be seen on the cycling position? And between 1893 – 1903 69 patents were granted on cyckling skirts? Do different teaching methods have their effect on learning results of different branches of sloyd? 

The database includes abstracts and bibliographic records for articles, news items, and reviews published in design and applied arts periodicals from 1973 onwards. DAAI covers e.g. product design, advertising and fashion and clothing; materials touched among others glass, wood, Web design and others.
