EDutu!-webinar Asks How Digital Learning Environments Enhance Learning?

How digitalization and the integration of technology into learning can help us gain better understanding of learning and teaching are the topics that will be discussed in the next EDutu!-webinar on November 18th, 2021 at 17.30.

This topic will be introduced to us by Jussi-Pekka Järvinen, who holds a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Turku where he worked as an Educational Technologist and a University Teacher in the subject of Digital Pedagogies from 2016–2021. Järvinen has worked with both pre-service and in-service teachers and his favourite topics are learning analytics, the effects of AI on education and computational thinking. In 2019, he was elected as the University Teacher of The Year together with his colleague. Currently Jussi-Pekka works as a pedagogy expert at Eduten Oy to provide research-based EdTech solutions to teachers around the world.

After Järvinen's speech there will be commentaries given by Peter Lehto and Harry Chi-Shing Lau. The webinar will be hosted by Kalypso Filippou.

Kalypso Filippou completed her Master’s Degree studies and Doctoral Degree at the Department of Education, University of Turku. Her research activities mainly focus in the field of higher education, international education, and university pedagogy. She is a university lecturer at UTUPEDA – Centre for University Pedagogy and Research in the Department of Teacher Education and co-leads the research project "EqualISM: International Students in Times of Crisis".

Peter Lehto is the CEO and founder of BeanBakers with 15 years of full-stack software development and consulting experience.

Harry Chi-Shing Lau is a student in the Master's Degree Programme in Education and Learning at University of Turku and a former Head of Science and Technology Key Learning Area at Stewards Pooi Kei College in Hong Kong.
