Plenty of new databases acquired!

10.05.2019

The library has subscribed to as much as 75 new humanist and social sciences databases from ProQuest this spring. All the databases will be in use for at least three years. Part of the sum that has been invested in the subscription may be used yearly for buying the most used ones for perpetual use.

The selection contains several databases which have been on trial previously such as:

  • newspaper archives Globe and Mail and Toronto Star
  • the database Border and Migration Studies Online which concentrates on migration and border districts
  • Human Rights Studies Online which contains documents and analyses on violation of human rights.

Apart from these there is also still access to part of ProQuest’s Congressional databases which received positive feedback during the trial. Further disciplines of the wide supply include, among others, social work (Social Work Online), gender studies (LGBT Magazine Archive), musicology (Music Online: Reference) and psychology (Psychological Experiments Online).
