The Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities (ACEEU) has granted the University of Turku accreditation for promoting entrepreneurship and supporting the University community’s entrepreneurial activities as the first Finnish university. The University’s delegation received the acknowledgement that was granted earlier in the spring in Florence, Italy on 28 June 2022.

The accreditation was preceded by development work launched in 2015, through which the University has actively brought forth themes related to entrepreneurship and strengthened services related to it. The work has involved a broad spectrum of actors both within the University and in its interest groups.

– The accreditation is therefore an acknowledgement to both the entire University community and the University’s partners, says Director of Community Relations Leena Wahlfors.

The Chair of ACEEU, Professor Thorsten Kliewe presented the accreditation acknowledgement to the University of Turku in Florence on 28 June 2022. The accreditation was received by Entrepreneurship Programme Manager Kirsi Peura and Director of Community Relations Leena Wahlfors.

The accreditation is valid for the next five years. The University will continue to promote entrepreneurship by offering entrepreneurship training, supporting the University community in its entrepreneurial activities and by producing research with high commercialisation potential.
