University of Turku's international degree programmes open for applications – Introducing two new bachelor's programmes

08.01.2025

The first joint application round of 2025 runs from 8–22 January, including the English-taught degree programmes of the University of Turku: two new bachelor's programmes and 16 master's programmes. At the same time, there will be separate applications for two additional international master’s programmes.

The University of Turku's international degree programmes, offered by seven faculties, are part of the national first joint application to higher education. The language of tuition is English, and no Finnish language skills are required. Both international and domestic Finnish applicants are welcome to apply to the international programmes.

It is possible to apply to the programmes once a year, and for the studies that start in August 2025, the application is open for two weeks 8–22 January. Using a single application form, applicants can apply to six programmes in total, which can be offered by different institutions. Up to three of these programmes may be from the University of Turku.

This year, two new bachelor's programmes are open for applications: The Faculty of Technology's Information and Communication Technology programme prepares students to become future ICT experts. Graduates can continue directly into the master's programme without a separate application, specialising in areas such as cybersecurity or robotics. The Turku School of Economics' Sustainable and Social Entrepreneurship programme combines foundational business studies, entrepreneurship, and multidisciplinary courses on sustainability. Graduates are eligible to apply for master's programmes, for example at the Turku School of Economics.

In addition to the joint application period, separate applications are open for the European joint degree programme European Languages, Cultures and Societies in Contact and the international master's programme in Finnish and Other Finno-Ugric Languages.

From 2025 onwards, applicants from outside the EU, EEA, or Switzerland are required to pay a €100 application fee to apply for higher education.

As part of its International Programme, the University of Turku aims to double the number of international master's degree students by 2030. The number of applications to the university's international degree programmes has grown by over 70% annually during 2022–2024. The university is sustainably increasing the number of study places in international programmes by designing new ones in its areas of strength.
