University Transfers to Green Coronavirus Traffic Light Stage – Masks Still in Use
The University of Turku transfers to the green light stage of the coronavirus traffic light model on 7 March 2022. The University's instructions on safety measures are still observed closely.
The coronavirus management team of the University of Turku has decided that the University transfers to the green light stage of the coronavirus traffic light model on 7 March 2022. The traffic light model for the coronavirus situation defines the level of safety measures at the University.
Masks are used in the University’s facilities if close contacts cannot be avoided.
– The lifting of the restriction enables more versatile activities on campus. However, it is still important to closely observe the safety measures in order to control the epidemic – let's act responsibly together. It is possible to also ease the safety measures if the epidemic situation improves in the spring, says Rector Jukka Kola.
Teaching and events (including doctoral dissertation defences) can be organised while observing the safety measures. The national and regional recommendations on remote work ended on 28 February. The University returned to regular remote work practices on 1 March.
It is possible to issue fixed-term restrictions on the University of Turku campuses if the coronavirus situation so requires. The coronavirus management team decides on these restrictions.
The coronavirus management team of the University of Turku continues to monitor the situation, but meets only when necessary. The goal is that the organisation’s separate coronavirus measures could be discontinued at the end June.
