BalticSatApps Project Supports Commercialisation of Earth Observation Data in the Baltic Sea Region

In the past 30 years, substantial R&D efforts in the field of Earth Observation (EO) have been made globally, but the observation data has not yet been commercialised on a larger scale. The European Regional Development Fund has financed the international BalticSatApps project, which aims at speeding up the market uptake of EO data in the Baltic Sea Region. The project is led by the Brahea Centre of the University of Turku.

Neural Machine Translation (NMT) is a newer development in machine translation, and there are high expectations for it. The School of Languages and Translation Studies at the University of Turku organises courses on translation technology and machine translation with emphasis on practical approach to modern technology. Neural machine translation is marketed in the media as the solution to the problems between languages. Is that also the case beneath the surface?
