Courses in Biomedial Image Analysis (Drug Discovery and Development MsC):
How to handle, analyze and understand your biomedical images? Four online courses in biomedical image analysis are available in Open University at the University of Turku. Courses are targeted to master or doctoral level students in biomedicine and other relevant disciplines, but also professionals from working life are welcome to these interesting and topical courses! Courses are fully online and implemented in the national DigiCampus Moodle platform.
Basic Bioimage Informatics, 5 ECTS credits
Basics of image processing and analysis in the point of view of life scientist. Online course 2.4. - 17.5.2024.

Automated Bioimage Analysis, 4 ECTS credits
The course focuses on how to handle multi-dimensional images and how automation enables analysis of big datasets. Online course 27.5. - 31.8.2024.
Enrolment: Prerequisites: Passed the course Bioimage Informatics 1 or Basic Bioimage Informatics or similar knowledge. Quata 10 students. Students are selected in order of enrolment.
Quantitative Histopathology, 4 ECTS credits
The course concentrates on how to quantitate histopathological images using different image processing and analysis tools. Online course 27.5 - 31.8.2024.

Disease Model Pathology, 5 ECTS credits
The course covers basic pathology such as inflammation, cell injury and neoplasia, as well as ow human diseases can be understood with the help of mouse models. Online course 19.2. - 28.3.2024.

The course focuses on the possibilities of antibodies as therapeutic agents providing the student with knowledge on the origin and structure of antibodies, on their molecular and pharmacological properties as well as on the key biotechnological methods used to develop and produce of them.
