Jari Metsämuuronen and Jake McMullen have been appointed as Professors of Learning Analytics at the University of Turku’s Research Institute for Learning Analytics, starting from February 1, 2025. These new professorships will focus on digital learning environments and further strengthen the University of Turku’s leading position in the field of learning analytics.
The Research Council of Finland selected four new clusters of expertise to its Finnish Flagship Programme, and the University of Turku is a partner in two of the Flagships.
Two seed-funded projects focusing on education and teaching facilitate cooperation with partners in Africa and India.
On the 16th and 17th of June 2022, the third transnational project meeting of the Erasmus+ Project MATHESIS (Attracting Students’ Interest in Mathematics and Improving Their Skills, Comprehension and Performance with The Use of a Virtual Reality Educational Platform) took place. Representatives of partner organisations from Greece, Romania, Italy, Finland and Czech Republic, participated in the meeting.
The second transnational project meeting of the Erasmus+ Project VRACE “Virtual Reality for Augmenting Creativity and Effectiveness of School Training” took place at the University of Turku campus on 15 and 16 December 2021. Representatives from the United Kingdom participated in person while the partners from Greece, Italy and Czech Republic attended the meeting online.
On 16 and 17 December 2021, the third transnational project meeting of the Erasmus+ Project JANUS “e-Pedagogy and Virtual Reality Based Robotic Blended Education” took place at the University of Turku campus. Representatives of partner organisations from Greece, Poland, Italy, and Lithuania participated in the meeting.
